OPPT Newsbreak cancellation
please take a minute to protest this cancelation to the email indicated
below, and to browner.carol@epamail.epa.gov
Especially after Greenpeace had to cancel its news clips email service,
this has been the only free such service I know of, and saves INVALUABLE
untold hours of scanning the mass media and various scientific/medical j's
for env info.
This is especially a shame given the nonpartisan nature and of the service
and of the recipients; and also given EPA's rhetoric about the importance
of information, e.g.
'As we embark on a new era of information technology and
enhanced public access to data, we are committed to ensuring
that our data are timely, accurate, integrated and useful to
the public and are able to effectively inform our own decision
making,' said the memo." August 1998
