RE: RE: NetscapeMorph
Bob Field's reply is quite interesting... I haven't heard of either MSIE
4.0x or 5.0 wiping out Netscape's program itself before; I am aware of IE
changing the default browser to IE without asking, as does Netscape when it
is installed. Actually, Netscape does ask, but changes the default
regardless of your answer. However, if your installation of IE has wiped
out Netscape's program, a good many people
would be interested in knowing what steps you took, and if it is repeatable.
By the way, what version of Netscape did you have?
There is another problem with IE 5.0 that has a few people perturbed. It
seems that IE entrenches itself so completely into the operating system, the
only way to remove it and reinstall IE 4.01 is to reformat your harddrive.
Very bad news when you end up with a serious sofware conflict or especially
a corrupted install. I have experienced this personally; rest assured it is
a nightmare to revert back to the 4.01. C`est le vie... I really needed to
start fresh anyway.
Has anyone else experienced these problems?

Along the same lines--did you know that if you download and install the
latest version of the msn browser that it will go into your files and
delete the Netscape browser? No permission asked and no notice that it is
doing this.
