if we nationalize the OS interface, and have NIST or FCC certify
applications which only use legitimate OS call vectors, then linux,
solaros, os2, Geos, even Javaos can all build up api support to run standard
applications, without the threat of Microsoft adding new components
which make other OS's obsolete upon arrival. NT and OS/2 have gone some
distance into removing the need even for intel instruction sets.
