  	On Sunday,  August 9th, 1997,  at 0300 GMT, the 2nd Vice-President of
  the Free Nigeria Movement (FNM), Mrs. Eniola Ajayi, was administered the
  oath of office by FNM Secretary-General Mukhtar Dan’Iyan, in the
  presence of other members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of
  the organization, members of the local FNM Bay Area Chapter (which
  hosted the NEC meeting), members of her family, and other friends and
  well wishers.
  	She was appointed by President Okorodudu based on the recommendation of
  the NEC, and in total accordance with the provisions of the Constitution
  of the FNM, with her tenure lasting from now till the next FNM National
  Conference, scheduled for January, 1998.
  	Her responsibilities include being the Chairperson of the National
  Working Committee (NWC) of the FNM, in effect making her the head of the
  legislative arm of the organization.
  	The position of 2nd Vice-President, was officially made vacant after
  the resignation of Mrs. Ajayi’s predecessor, Ms. Maureen Idehen, on July
  17th, 1997, due to external work constraints at her end.
