Re: Error Condition Re: incineration and dioxin
i am on a task force overseeing the clean up of a superfund site. this
site was to be mostly done but for some errors in the memory of the
epa.
anyway first something that you all will be happy to hear
"IT HAS NEVER BEEN ILLEGAL TO SHIP DIOXIN IT WAS JUST THAT THEY HAD NO
WHERE TO SEND IT" [CLOSE QUOTE]
from the head man in boston overseeing the clean ups and the site
director of the baird and mcguire toxic waste site. We were informed of
this at the nov 97 meeting. Seems all the task force just got that
wrong. Unfortunately I have a tape of thier man saying it was illegal.
but as usual thats no relevent.
Anyways our site is 14 on the superfund site 220,000 tons of dirt and
2-20 ft down . With water treatment plant doing removal of water 100 ft
down. seems this is not working as expected . this is because they
forgot that the contaminants could wash very slowly into 100 feet .
Creosote 60% of site will not wash away quickly . This is continuing
the lnapl and probably causeing dnapl. So in order to make some
progress
they are shyphoning the lnapl of the top of the water. This creates a
consentrate . These consentrates are being shipped off site. Thus the
dioxin question. if anyone has a incineration question feel free to
email me
this is the web site for the epa site
