Translating Rachel into Spanish

Dear Friend,

You should never stick your old gum underneath your seat at the
movies. Because what would happen if everybody did that? You'd be
forced to either forego the theater or brave stalagmites of
chewed gum that no longer burst with anything, especially not
fruit flavor.

But imagine many small efforts coming together to create a strong
force, which, instead of creating suspended mounds of old chewing
gum, accomplished something positive. Like a group of ants
carrying an entire picnic. A solitary ant couldn't carry much
more than a crumb, but a group of ants, and ... uhmm ... wait ...
a ... second, ... what picnic?

We're not asking you to join a faction of gum-stickers. But we
are inviting you to help us carry a picnic.

We have recently begun the project of making environment and
health information available to Spanish speaking communities. We
have already translated 116 previous issues and are translating
each issue of Rachel's as it is published. They are available now
on the web at www.rachel.org. With your help, we would like to
begin translating another 275 important back issues of Rachel's
into Spanish. To accomplish this, we need to raise $205.00 per
issue, making a total of $56,375.00.

We know this is a big picnic to carry, but we believe that with
your help, it is possible.

As someone who knows what it is like to receive important
environment and health information, please help us to continue to
provide valuable information to those who need it. We invite you
to help us carry the load by contributing $25, $50, $205 (the
cost of translating an entire issue of Rachel's), or however much
you can afford.

Your gift will help us continue to provide you and others with
reliable, timely environment and health information. Because a
single ant cannot a picnic carry.
