Re: Chicken Sale

  Hello Everyone,

I am relatively new to the list and thought I would pass this
along. A quick search on a Newspaper database brought up about four or
five hits on the chicken plants in Arkansas, one of which is below. There
were also articles in the Austin American Statesman and Buffalo News (not
sure where that one is published.) So there does seem to be be some
coverage albeit rather limited and certainly not front page.

ABSTRACT: LITTLE ROCK, Ark. Temporary shutdowns at poultry plants idled
hundreds of workers after federal inspectors found that
dioxin-contaminated feed had been used by farmers producing
                 chicken, eggs and catfish.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said the dioxin
was not enough to endanger consumers. But the agency directed
about 350 poultry farms and animal feed manufacturers on July
3 to stop using the feed, and it ordered poultry processors
and egg producers to stop shipping affected products.
