Carnegie and Rockefeller parallels with Gates

In a previous posting reference had been made to the
practices of Rockefeller and Standard Oil earlier in this
century. I think it it would be useful to to take a look
at the parallel between Rockefeller and Gates as well as
Andrew Carnegie and Gates (a much closer parallel--sans
  philanthropy).

I've included a few links on these two men to get a
  discussion thread started:

A rather frothy tribute to Carnegie

Also, A&E aired episodes of Biography on both men (both
were very well done, and far more informative than the
  above links).
