Legislators Should Go Slow on Electronic Copyright Laws
Nov. 3 -- Legislators should delay overhauling
intellectual property laws or public policy to protect
digital information until markets have had time to
adjust to new business models and until sufficient
research on electronic copyright issues is conducted,
says a new National Research Council report.
"The committee raised the question of whether the notion of a
"copy" remains an appropriate foundation for copyright law in
the digital age."
