The message I take from this is that some people would rather litigate than
think. For the cost of a few lines of script, Ticketron and Universal could
redirect all deep page requests with an out-of-house referrer page to their
home pages. Instead they want to fabricate a corporate problem, risking
enormous potential expense and toxic fallout. Scott Rosenberg is right,
unfortunately; it is disturbing that the courts may have to sort out this
issue and make a bunch of artifical distinctions, especially given that
it's moot, bogus and highly annoying.
