Botswana patent exceptions
According to Ladas and Parry, in
http://www.ladas.com/BULLETINS/1997/1297Bulletin/Botswana_NewIPLaw.html
The New Industrial Property Act in Bostwana does not extend patent
protection to the following categories:
discoveries, scientific theories, mathematical methods, aesthetic works,
schemes, rules or methods for doing business, performing a mental act or
playing a game, programs for computers, methods for treatment of the
human body or animal body by surgery and diagnostic methods practiced on
the human body.
Ladas and Parry also indicate that the Botswana law provides for
compulsory licenses, on terms consistent with the Paris Convention, but
doesn't give much detail.
