new DOJ/Thomson settlement

Today DOJ said it has filed a new settlement with Thomson on the West
merger. The highlight is probably the new license fees. The old fees
were 9, 11, and 13 cents per 1,000 characters, with the rate going up each
year. The wew fees are, by year of publication, are 4,4,6,6,8,8 and 9
  cents per 1,000 characters.

Ed Jensen of California has reportedly removed his opposition to the
Merger. I haven't reviewed his statement. jamie
