  FNM National Information Secretary assumes duty

  	Today (July 01, 1997 ) at 1450 GMT, the National Information Secretary
  of the Free Nigeria Movement (FNM), Mr. Nasiru Ikharo, was administered
  the oath of office by President Okorodudu in the presence of other
  members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the organization.
  	He was appointed by the President based on the recommendation of the
  NEC, and in total accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of
  the FNM, with his tenure lasting from now till the next FNM National
  Conference, scheduled for January, 1998.
  
  	His responsibilities include being the Chief liaison between the FNM
  and the general public, and the maintenance of all channels of
  communication used to achieve this task, including the Voice of Free
  Nigeria (VoFN)(Every Saturday at 1900 GMT on the 11.680 kHz wavelength),
  the Radio Station of the FNM, among others. 
  	
  
  	The position of National Information Secretary, although provided for
  in the FNM Constitution has been vacant till his appointment.
