    Surely there are more pressing areas of intellectual property rights to be
    discussed

There are many other areas concerning copyright and patents (and some
other laws) that would be useful and pertinent to discuss here.  To
discuss them thoughtfully, we should avoid lumping them together with
terms like "intellectual property".
