    Actually, I think it is legally possible to sell a painting/portrait
    today without selling the copyright along with the original.

That is not just possible, it is standard practice, and I think it
has been so for a long time.

I think Klimt lived long enough ago that his works are in the public
domain now.  However, someone could check that.
