I think you are referring to the time when I said that discussion of
the fundamentals of ethics, a field which great minds have not been
able to settle in thousands of years, would be a counterproductive
distraction from our practical activities.

I also distinguished these fundamental levels of the philosophy of
ethics from questions of applied philosophy that are directly related
to the issues at hand.  Those are the kind of philosophical questions
I raise.  The current interchange is at the latter level.  Although
Davis' statement was surprisingly harsh, the subject matter he's
talking about is useful.

You have twisted my words into something that conflicts with my
actions, but does not reflect my views.  You present this as a
contradiction of mine, but it comes from you, not from me.
