Yes.
There is a strong momentum to privatize all things.
All things public-domain are incompatible with capitalism.
Before NAFTA, there was public domain real estate in the form of
communal land. This form of non-ownership was outlawed by the
'agreement' because NAFTA is economic in nature and so it can not
conceive of land otherwise.
It is quite reasonable to expect a person to apply what works for
one thing to another - in the hopes it will work there as well. So the
current model will always seek expansion..
As long as advanced capitalism as the dominant social structure the
public domain will be depleted.
To contextualize and address these things free of distraction must
be done outside of the economic viewpoint as the two are wholly
opposing. One requires ownership to exist - the other's existence is
most complete when there is a total lack of ownership..
Also, a privatized society will always move twords a unification of
resources (the rich get richer, the poor poorer) as resources (money)
provide the means to gather more of themselves.
I believe these are systemic characteristics..
I think there will always be methods of exploiting the existing
social structure - whether and/or how people choose to do so.. That's
something else..
Whether and how existence in a form of society effects its
constituents is also something else.. How, and to what degree, does the
form of society affect the choices of the people whose will it is meant
to serve? What are the effects of immersement in a reducing,
commodifying, competitive environment? At what point is structure
dictating it's own design?
