I have been stating for some time that these people were
saying such things right out loud, but no one believed me.
It's been going on for a LONG time. . .longer than most of
you even knew who Richard and I were. . . .
Here's one from a DECADE ago in response to the then new
concept of information providers on the information highway,
and the whole idea of copyright extension, pay per view, etc:
"It's not enough for US to win,
YOU have to lose!!!"

PS
I think it was Barry Diller, of Viacom, and the Information
Infrastructure II Conference in Silicon Valley, publicized
and attended by Vice President Al Gore.
These people will look you right in the eye and say that
copyright should be permanent. . .THEY own it. . . .
"I created it, I should own it forever."
And they are ALL for changing the rules in mistream. . . .
Wanna shake everyone up???
Convince them that some country is considerting SHORTER copyrights.
and inviting Internet sites to locate there.
If it really happened, we could find that it could start WWIII.
