What is the copyright status of posts to this list? Is one allowed to 
reproduce text from posts either in part or in full without permission from 
the poster? Is upd-discuss in the public domain?

If one cannot go for a comprehensive waiver (e.g. by requiring people to agree 
to it when they sign up to the list) how should one go about public-domaining 
or CCing one's own posts? Would the following suffice:

a) This post is hereby dedicated to the public domain

b) Licensed under a CC Attribution License (v2.0)
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0/

Does the fact that emails include previous emails from other - and often the 
entire email - cause problems?
