Yep, for example, Jack Valenti, ex-Chairman MPAA, was awarded "a WIPO Medal
and a Citation for Distinguished Service" in February

Some of you will know that the TransAtlantic Consumer Dialogue are
organising a meeting in Geneva next week entitled the Future of WIPO, with
stakeholders from academia, industry, NGOs, and governments, as well as
members of the WIPO secretariat. I hope that it comes up with something
good.
