Interesting article in today's WallStreet Journal Interactive Edition
("Patent
Office to change its tune"). Looks like the PTO is due to make some
changes today.

"Amid a growing debate over patents that stake out broad claims for
basic methods of doing business
on the Web, The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is expected Wednesday
to unveil an overhaul of the way it
examines applications and awards patents for many online practices."
