Jubilee USA Network began as Jubilee 2000/USA in 1997 when a diverse
gathering of people and organizations came together in response to the
international call for Jubilee debt cancellation. Now 70 organizations
including labor, churches, religious communities and institutions, AIDS
activists, trade campaigners and over 10,000 individuals are active

Job Description

Job Title:		National Coordinator

Supervisor:		The Coordinator is hired and supervised by the Jubilee
Coordinating Committee.

Location:		Washington, D.C.

Summary of Responsibilities:  This is a key leadership position
overseeing and serving a network of 70 organizations including labor,
churches, religious communities and institutions, AIDS activists, trade
campaigners, and over 10,000 individuals, all in the service of building
the movement to achieve definitive debt cancellation for poor countries.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

FUNDRAISING: Raise the annual operating budget, and create the annual
fundraising strategy with the Coordinating Committee (CC) Development
Committee.

STRATEGIC DIRECTION AND IMPLEMENTATION: Envision a strategy for growth
of the organization and of the debt movement in the United States, with
the aim of achieving definitive debt cancellation for countries, and
work collaboratively with and on behalf of the members of the Network
Council, Jubilee South, and other partners to take us there.

OPERATIONAL OVERSIGHT: Provide leadership and management oversight of
Jubilee's operations and supervision of an empowered staff team.

COORDINATING COMMITTEE/BOARD LIASION: Work to cultivate and manage an
active Coordinating Committee to ensure compliance with Jubilee's
fiduciary duties; meet and exceed program, fundraising, and organizing
goals; undertake effective institutional planning and functional
staff/board collaboration; and ensure that the mission, vision, and
values are embodied in all processes of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

q	Successful experience serving as an Executive Director or senior staff
of (1) a philanthropic organization, (2) a community-based organization,
or (3) a progressive nonprofit organization, that required fundraising,
management oversight, and supervisory skills.

q	A minimum of 5 years experience in one or more areas above desirable.

q	Demonstrated experience raising funds for not-for-profit organizations
of similar size and scope, ranging from $1 to $1 million annually.

q	Demonstrated successful experience raising funds from individuals.

q	Demonstrated experience raising foundation grants.

q	Demonstrated experience with community organizing, particularly in
communities of color and faith communities;

q	Demonstrated experience with progressive social change work.

q	Demonstrated experience of effective work in and with diverse communities.

q	Must be able to travel (estimated 4-10 days each month).

q	Demonstrated competence with fiscal management and oversight.

q	Demonstrated competency achieving strategic and operational planning.

q	Demonstrated competency in developing programmatic and operational
workplans.

q	Experience in successful functioning in a highly collaborative
environment.

q	Understanding of and commitment to the principles, concerns, and
considerations of the Jubilee Network with regard to issues of race,
class, nationality, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, and
disabilities.

q	Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with diverse staff.

Compensation:  Salary range dependant on experience.  Comprehensive
medical and hospitalization plan; term life, 403(b) benefit pension
plan, plus fringe benefits; participation in unemployment and worker's
compensation and social security.
