Apparently Lierman serves on the Board of Directors of the Advocacy
Institute, a group devoted to "strenghtening the capacity of social and
economic justice advoactes."  They provide this info:

Terry Lierman is the President of Capitol Associates, Inc.  Mr.
Lierman's career began at the National Institutes of Health, where he
went on to serve as Staff Director of the U.S. Senate Labor-HHS
Appropriations Subcommittee, and subsequently as Chief of Staff / Chief
Clerk of the Senate Appropriations Committee with continuing oversight
of all health programs.  Mr. Lierman has been on the Board of Children's
National Medical Center, Chair and a Founder of the Children's Research
Institute, Vice Chair of the Washington, D.C. UNICEF council, on the
National UNICEF board, and a Founder of Research!America, the FDA
Council, and The National Coalition for Cancer Research.  He has also
served as Issues Coordinator and Policy Director for a Presidential
campaign, and regularly participates in various political events for
campaigns and policy development.
