Terry Lierman, a democratic candidate for Congress opposing Connie
Morella (R-MD), is featured in today's Washington Post story, for his
loan of $25,000 to Representative Moran (D-VA), a few days before
Representative Moran introduced legislation to extend the Claritin
patent. Lierman is identified in the Post story as a lobbyist for
Schering-Plough, the company that markets Claritin. (the CEO of
Schering-Plough is also on the board of directors of the NYT).

Looking at the Opensecrets.org profile of Lierman from 1998, it would
seem as though he has a lot of clients, including, for example:

Astra Merck (Prilosec)
Columbia University (seeking patent extension)
Cell Therapeutics
FDA/NIH Council (what is this?)
Glaxo Wellcome
Merck
Pharmacia & Upjohn
Schering-Plough

Plus lots of other clients, including several non-profit clients.
