Dear all,
One of our investigators has dicovered that a substance, which is
produced both by the body and synthetically, is effective is inhibiting
several cancers. He has been granted a patent that covers the receptor
pathways inhibiting those cancers. His data show that in some types of
cancers, the receptor is defective. We are tying to license this
technology but face several issues. For example, the drug in question
has been prescribed for many years for other uses and one concern is
that it would be difficult to track down what physicians will be
prescribing the drug for (cancer or other uses). Has anybody faced this
type of scenario before and if so, what approach(es) might be
recommended for marketing and licensing. Many thanks.
