Dear Sirs,
My name is Klaus Stubkjaer Andersen. I attend law school in Denmark and have
an interest in international law and development issues.
I am working on a project on how intellectual property rights could
facilitate development of vaccines/ medicines for the cure of predominatly
3rd world diseases! One solution could be to offer drug manufacturers an
extention of the patent period on the condition that they undertook R&D and
delivery of vaccines/ medicines which typically prevail in 3rd countries.
Another idea would be patent exchanges by which drug manufacturers supply
developing countries with patents needed in exchange for IPR to local
indigenious (common) knowledge of the developing countries.
Now, I was wondering whether you have interesting information or links on
this subject.
I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Faithfully,

Klaus Stubkjaer Andersen
