Public Citizen Releases Latest in Series of Surveys into Prescription
Drug Price Discrimination

On Wednesday, August 2, 2000, Public Citizen, in conjunction with
Chicago Metro Seniors in Action, released a prescription drug price
survey in Chicago. The study revealed that Chicago seniors without
prescription drug coverage are being charged retail prices that are
about double -- 101 percent higher on average -- than the prices that
prescription drug makers charge their most favored customers, such as
the Departments of Veterans Affairs.
