I posted on my website a review of Colin Bennett's new book:  The 
Privacy Advocates.  The review is posted in a section of my site titled

An appendix to the review includes a short report on a 1998 advisory 
committee hearing on a patient identifier.  I was inspired by Colin's 
discussion of case histories to write this report.  I was a member of 
the NCVHS committee that held the hearing, and it ended up having a 
significant effect on the course of events.  I thought that it was worth 
posting the story somewhere, and this seemed to be as good a place as any.
