Medical Information Being Sold Online
For a mere $150 per thousand names, one can buy lists of people with
asthma, allergies, diabetes, cardiac conditions, thyroid disorders,
arthritis, psychiatric disorders, and people in menopause. The new
database has 2.8 million people in it, and the information was
collected through telephone surveys.
Ailments and Health Issues
More than 2.8 million individuals with selectable ailments or medical
conditions are named on the Ailments and Health Issues prospecting file
from Next Dimension. The source is a telephone survey.
Selections: Monthly hotline, age, ethnicity, gender, homeowner,
income, length of residence, marital status, telephone numbers,
presence of children, high blood pressure, asthma, allegeries,
indigestion, diabetes, cardiac condition, thyroid disorders, arthritis,
psychiatric disorders, menopause, state/SCF/ZIP

There oughta be a law, right? Well there are federal and state medical
privacy laws. But they don't apply when individuals give their medical
information to strangers outside the doctor's office. And those

information away unless you need to. There is no need to participate in
