  Bush Calls for Computerized Records in State of the Union Address

   President Bush on Tuesday included a series of health care proposals
in his State of the Union address, including the
   implementation of computerized medical records to improve care.

   =93By computerizing health records, we can avoid dangerous medical
mistakes, reduce costs and improve care,=94 Bush said.

[....]

   Bush's plans rely =93heavily=94 on the private sector and cost =93only=
 a
fraction=94 of the cost of proposals from Democrats,
   the Times reports (Toner/Pear, New York Times, 1/21).

[....]

The Senate, and in a few cases, the House, have already rejected many of
Bush=92s health care proposals,
 according to the Post (Goldstein/Weisman, Washington Post, 1/21).
