*Brazil** will donate A Flu vaccine to developing countries *
>From Geneva
The World Health Organization confirmed yesterday the offer made by nine
countries =96 Brazil is one of them =96 to donate 10% of their doses of the
Influenza A to developing countries.
The announcement was made by the USA last week, in coordination with
Australia, Brazil, France, Italy, New Zeeland, Norway, UK and Switzerland.
=93This shows comprise of these countries with justice in sharing their sca=
rce
resources in a moment in which the pandemic H1N1 is still in evolution=94,
said the spokesmen of the organization.
The WHO considers that the current vaccine=92s stock is not sufficient to
answer the world needs. The organism linked to UN warned to a possible
=93second wave=94 pandemic with the arrival of the winter in northern
hemisphere, in December. By now, the number of cases in the region is
stable.
The Swine Flu is also under control in temperate areas of the southern
hemisphere =96 the case of a part of the Brazilian territory =96, although =
it is
still much disseminated in the warmer areas. In Bolivia and Venezuela =96
Bolivia has still a very vulnerable indigenous population =96 the patient
number is still rising.
Until the last 13th, date of the last update, there were more than 296.471
cases of the disease in the world, with at least, 3.486 deaths. The WHO
warns, however, that the numbers are underestimated, since many of the dead
did not come to go to the hospital.
