PHILADELPHIA, November 9, 2009 - State policy on prescription drug
marketing, prescribing and access will be featured in two panels at the
annual meeting of the American Public Health Association Annual Meeting
in Philadelphia tomorrow.
More than 13,000 public health professionals meet this week to learn
from experts about cutting-edge research and emerging trends. They will
have an opportunity to hear from state legislators and policy experts on
prescriber education, limiting drug marketing excesses through
disclosure of gift-giiving and marketing expenditures, regulation of
drug company salepersons, and trade policy as it affects states and
access to medicine.
