What we really need is a more critical examination of patent and other
so-called intellectual proprerty afforded the pharmaceutical companies by
governments and their proxies. That includes pharmaceutical
industry-funded "institutes" and the like, which perpetuate the
stranglehold that the industry possesses over health and which is
maintained by the kind of obfuscation accomplished by claims of
"independence" that doesn't exist. If those entities afforded their
employees true life-time security, the situation might be different. I
