disaster. In over 60 countries worldwide, MSF provides both life-saving=0D
emergency relief and longer-term assistance to make basic healthcare=0D
services available to the most vulnerable or excluded communities.=0D

The Access Campaign was established in 1999 to improve access to existing=
=0D
medical tools (medicines, diagnostics, vaccines) and to stimulate the=0D
development of urgently needed better tools for people in countries where=
=0D
MSF works. One of the important aspects of the Campaigns work is to=0D
advocate in key policy fora. The European Union (Member states, the=0D
European Commission and European Parliament) is a important actor in=0D
relation to access to medicines for developing countries, through its=0D
policies, legislation and its bilateral and regional free trade agreements.=
=0D
There is a crucial need to ensure that the EU adopts appropriate measures=
=0D
that will improve access to medicines in developing countries.=0D
=0D
The Role of  Policy Advocacy Assistant is to assist the  IP policy adviser,=
=0D
and other campaign team members  with the implementation of advocacy=0D
strategies  at the EU level.=0D
=0D
Objective=0D
1.    To assist the IP Policy adviser of the Access Campaign with the=0D
preparation of the advocacy work and with the implementation of the=0D
advocacy strategies at the European level with a particular focus on=0D
trade-related health subjects and R&D.=0D
2.     When required, (as agreed by the Director of Policy Advocacy) to=0D
support other access campaign team members with the implementation of=0D
advocacy strategies at the European level.=0D

=0D
Description tasks:=0D
1.    Provide support to establish and maintain contacts with the European=
=0D
Institutions with the aim to influence relevant European policy=0D
developments=0D
=0D
=E2=80=A2     Provide members of the EU institutions, relevant stakeholders=
, EU=0D
NGOs with the Campaign=E2=80=99s messages and maintain regularly contact to=
 obtain=0D
information about their activities.=0D
=E2=80=A2     Maintain/update contact Database for Brussels=0D
=E2=80=A2     Provide support to monitor Policy development on access issue=

=E2=80=A2     Attend and Report on relevant EU meetings (European Parliamen=
t=0D
Committees, conference)=0D
=E2=80=A2     Provide support to organise events in Brussels (external work=
shop,=0D
Internal meeting etc.)=0D

2.    Provide background research relevant to the advocacy work=0D
=0D

Qualifications requirements=0D
=E2=80=A2     Degree in a relevant subject area (Politics or Communication,=
 Public=0D
relations, EU studies)=0D
=E2=80=A2     Experience in one of the European Institutions and/or a relev=
ant=0D
experience in advocacy at the EU level, with an experience in Public=0D
Health/Trade issues=0D
=E2=80=A2     Fluency in English required. French or Spanish desirable=0D
