UNITAID Civil Society Delegations' Liaison Officer (4 month fixed-term
contract) based in Oxford, Oxfam GB
Location: Oxford, hosted by Oxfam GB in Campaigns and Policy Division
Salary: =A327,080

What is UNITAID?
UNITAID is an international drug purchase facility, established to provide
long-term, sustainable and predictable funding to increase access and
reduce prices of quality drugs and diagnostics for the treatment of
HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis in developing countries.

Job Purpose
Civil society is represented by 4 board members on the UNITAID Executive
Board; 2 for NGOs, 2 for Communities Living With and/or Affected by
HIV/AIDS, TB or Malaria. Hosted by Oxfam GB, this is an exciting
opportunity to help provide crucial support for the advocacy work of these
civil society representatives.
You will assist the civil society representatives to carry-out their board
duties by:
1. Organising internal communications,
2. Tracking work commitments of the board members to ensure the civil
society delegations address their commitments
3. Helping the delegations to anticipate issues and workloads and
coordinate the delegations' responses
4. Liaising with UNITAID Secretariat and other UNITAID board delegations
5. Coordinating the effective self-management of the 2 civil society
delegations
6. Providing secretarial support during UNITAID board meetings and other
civil society meetings including organizing and facilitating pre-meetings,
note-taking, writing reports and communiques and disseminating information
on UNITAID through civil society communications networks.
7. Moderating the communications of the 2 CS delegations by over-seeing
the civil society advisory group, contact group and community support team
which are structures established to provide support and consultative
policy inputs and recommendations to the UNITAID civil society board
members. This involves ensuring effective consultation with key civil
society Stakeholders and policy experts and effective communications for
outreach and increased engagement of wider civil society in the work of
the UNITAID CS delegations
8. Assisting with resource mobilization as and when necessary including
proposal development and grant reporting.
Note: this contract is initially for 4 months due to funding restrictions
but it is hoped that further funding will be secured and the contract
could be extended beyond this.
