In the run-up to this year's climate talks in Copenhagen will climate negot=
iators be able to agree on a global framework for reducing forest emissions=
 and their role in climate change mitigation?

SciDev.Net (The Science and Development Network) today publishes a spotligh=
t on reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD) in=
 the developing world.

This spotlight offers a genuine international perspective to the debate, wi=
th a series of articles and commentaries written by experts including Godwi=
n Kowero, head of the African Forest Forum in Kenya, N.H. Ravindranath and =
Shamama Afreen, researchers at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore=
, India, and Roman Czebiniak, policy advisor on climate change and forests =
