Wendy Taylor, Founder and Vice President of Strategy and Operations of
BIO Ventures for Global Health asked me to share this information with
the Ip-health list.

Dear Colleagues,

I wanted to pass along today=92s announcement of BIO Ventures for Global
Health=92s new Priority Review Voucher (PRV) website (www.prvinfo.org).
This site is intended as a tool to help product developers, potential
buyers and other interested parties better understand the PRV program
and decide whether to take action. It=92s also intended to help media
sift through and validate information on what=92s happening in the field.

We will continue to build and grow this site as the program unfolds.
We welcome your feedback and ideas on how to make it as useful to you
as possible.

With best regards,

Wendy

BIO Ventures for Global Health (BVGH) is pleased to announce the
launch of www.prvinfo.org, a comprehensive source of information on
Priority Review Vouchers (PRVs). The new voucher program,
administered by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA),
establishes a potentially powerful incentive for the investment in
drugs and vaccines for neglected tropical diseases.

Any company that successfully develops a product that treats or
prevents a neglected tropical disease can now earn a priority review
for a future new drug application. The vouchers, which can be traded
and sold, may cut 4-12 months off the FDA review time. If applied to
a blockbuster product (a product with peak sales over a billion
dollars), some economists estimate the vouchers may be worth enough to
help offset a company's investment in research and development for the
neglected tropical disease.

To support the new program, BVGH created this PRV website as a tool
for product developers, investors, policy makers and the media alike.
Use it to:
- Access information on how the program works, how much a
voucher is worth and what products qualify.
- Track vouchers granted and products under development that
may be eligible for vouchers.
- Find information to facilitate the trading of vouchers.
- Keep up with program updates, news and events.
- Follow the progress of products that earn vouchers and
understand the impact of the program as an incentive for new innovation.
