Subject: [Ip-health] Bruce Sterling (and Ellen 't Hoen) on a better name
than Counterfeit
I asked Bruce Sterling*, the science fiction writer, if he could come up
with a better name than "counterfeiting" to describe the distribution
of:
1. medicines that may involve traditional counterfeiting
2. medicines that are sold without any traceable name in terms of
manufactures, that are sold as medicines, and may or may not have the right
medicinal properties, and
3. medicines that have false dates or other information that hide problems
with quality and identity of manufacture
Bruce is somewhat famous for coining neologisms. My personal favorite of
the Sterling list is Pharmatoxins. (Ellen 't Hoen has her own candidate"
"pharma fraud")
