Robert Weissman: "Maybe Thomas or Aidan could just clarify if they have
other sources of support for the Health Impact Fund (through IGH or
otherwise), and also perhaps how much has been granted for the
impressive rollout of the HIF."
Answer: We have received funding from the Australian Research Council
(Mickey Davis's claim that this is "a branch of the Australian
government devoted to industry and innovation, which is devoted to the
patent industry" is untrue), from the Social Sciences and Humanities
Research Council of Canada, from the BUPA Foundation, and from the
European Commission. We have also received support from the ANU Centre
for Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics, from the Oslo University
Centre for the Study of Mind in Nature (paying for the printing of the
booklet and the Oslo event last August), from King's College London
(paying for the event there), and from Georgetown University (paying for
the event at Georgetown). We have funded the Cambridge and Oxford events
from our research funds which also include my Yale University research
budget. We have received no funding from other sources, and none of the
above funders has ever tried to influence our work (even though Jamie
Love has written complaining letters to some of them).
