India's Dabur Pharma to provide generic anticancer injection to Thailand

MUMBAI (Thomson Financial) - India's Dabur Pharma Ltd. said it has
signed an agreement with Thailand's Government Pharmaceutical
Organization (GPO) to supply it with a generic version of an anti-cancer
product, Docetaxel at 'a very special' price.

No financial details were given, but Dabur Pharma said in a regulatory
filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange that Thailand will import the
product and distribute it among 'needy patients' as part of Thailand's
efforts to provide access to essential medicines for low-income patients.

Sanofi-Aventis (nyse: SNY - news - people ) markets Docetaxel worldwide
under the name Taxotere.

Dabur Pharma shares ended up 1.93 percent at 66.00 rupees on the Bombay
Stock Exchange and the benchmark Sensex closed up 1.30 percent at 15,790.51.
