THE UNORTHODOX legal tactic of Pfizer in suing even in their personal
capacities the two top officials of the Bureau of Food and Drugs has
washed up all the way in Stanford University, where Pfizer CEO Henry
McKinnell is a member of the Stanford University Graduate School
Business Advisory Council.
A signature campaign is now underway in the campus to protest Pfizer's
alleged bullying tactics against the two Philippine officials, who
allowed the importation and eventual local production of generic
substitutes.
Pfizer claims the two officials, BFAD Director Leticia Barbara Gutierrez
and Emilio Polig Jr., "actively induced and facilitated" the
infringement of the multinational's prized patents.
