MSF-USA has an opening for a seasoned advocate to manage the development=0D
and implementation of US-based strategies and activities for MSF=E2=80=99s=

international Access to Essential Medicines Campaign in close collaboration=

with the international Access Campaign Coordination Team, Operational=0D
Centers (including HQ Access Campaign liaisons), field projects, and the=0D
MSF-USA Access Team, comprised of the Executive Director, Program Director,=

Medical Advisor and Communications Director.=0D

The US Campaign Officer supports the Campaign and MSF field operations by=
=0D
advocating in the United States for increased access to effective,=0D
affordable, and appropriate medicines and by providing direct support to=0D
MSF projects, in particular those managed by the NY Desk, to overcome=0D
concrete barriers to access.=0D
=0D
Position responsibilities:=0D
-Provides direct support to MSF France programs managed by the NY Desk,=0D
functioning as the =E2=80=9Coperational=E2=80=9D liaison for countries conf=
ronting=0D
Access-related issues.=0D
-Participates in the Access Campaign=E2=80=99s annual planning exercise, an=
d=0D
working groups, as needed, to formulate specific plans of action for=0D
Access-related issues.=0D
-Manages and coordinates implementation of Access Campaign strategies=0D
developed for the US to complement goals of international campaign.=0D
-Serves as a representative of MSF in the US on Access Campaign-related=0D
issues to US government and UN officials, the media, academic institutions,=
=0D
the pharmaceutical industry, other NGOs, and other counterparts.=0D
-Provides the MSF network with information and reflection about US=0D
government and UN strategies and their implications for access to essential=
=0D
medicines and facilitates MSF contact with key US actors.=0D
-Develops and manages network of contacts to facilitate communication=0D
between MSF and interlocutors in the US.=0D

Qualifications:=0D
-Proven and demonstrated analytical and political skills; excellent=0D
judgment and diplomacy; comfort with advocacy role.=0D
-Excellent oral and written English; French and/or Spanish preferred.=0D
-MSF field experience preferred, including exposure to highly political=0D
environments and humanitarian crises and hands-on experience with MSF=0D
principles of temoignage.=0D
-Ability to research, analyze, and synthesize complex medical topics so as=
=0D
to write reports and high-level business correspondence, and effectively=0D
present information to internal and external audiences including senior=0D
government, NGO and UN officials.=0D
-Min. 3-5 years directly related experience, preferably with a non-profit,=
=0D
plus Masters degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.=
=0D
=0D
