The WHO today begins three days of meetings on fixed dose combinations.
The big pharma companies that manufacture ARV products and the US
government have been fighting all efforts by WHO or UNAIDS to embrace
wider use and deployment of new fixed dose combation products that are
not offered by big pharma companies. I'm told that Dick Wilder will be
actually chairing a session on this at the WHO meeting, which is
surprising, given that he is listed as a partner with Sidley Austin
Brown & Wood, a firm that represents PhRMA and other industy interests.
