JT to Change Mild Seven Package Design Worldwide

Japan Tobacco Inc. will globally introduce the Mild Seven "Blue Wind"
symbol that was successfully launched in Japan in 2003. The Blue Wind
symbol will be phased in over time in each market. Products in the Mild
Seven brand family are distributed in more than 40 countries.
Since the launch of the new package design in Japan, Mild Seven's
Japanese market share has rebounded to 32.9 percent in the year that
ended March 2005, up from 32.5 percent in the fiscal year that ended
March 2003.
"If the increase in Mild Seven's market share in Japan is any
indication, we expect that the Blue Wind packaging, once introduced
globally, will have a positive impact on our Mild Seven performance
around the world," said Yasumasa Matsunaga, JT senior executive vice
president, who heads the product group of JT's tobacco business. Enditem
