Note: Of the four countries I visited on this trip, the tobacco
advertising was by far the most pervasive in Benin -- Anna White,

NIGER
Note: Niger is one of very poorest countries in the world. In Niamey,
cigarettes are about the only thing sold at small roadside stands.
Inoussa Saouna (SOS Tabagisme) shows off a poster advertising a
sweepstake game for Royals A FOND! cigarettes. Enter to win a camcorder, a
boombox, cellphones, CD players, and Wrangler jeans -- according to
Inoussa, these items are highly desired by youth in Niger.
