Take Action: Congratulate Uganda on going smokefree!
****************************************************
Dear Friends,
In mid-march, the Ugandan government banned smoking in all public
places, becoming the 6th country in the world to go smoke-free! The bad
news is that British American Tobacco - Uganda is hatching a plan to
scuttle the law. Phillip Karugaba of The Environmental Action Network
(TEAN) in Uganda calls on fellow GPTC participants to pitch in by
writing letters of support to Uganda newspapers. Even just a few lines
would make a difference!
TAKE ACTION: Write a short letter in support of Uganda's new law. Your
letter will be automatically emailed to leading Ugandan newspapers. To
participate, click on: http://petition.globalink.org/view.php?code=ugsf
The more countries, states/provinces, and cities around the world that go
(& stay) smokefree, the easier ALL our remaining smokefree campaigns will
become.
Thanks for participating!
