Dear ,
Just yesterday Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Tommy
Thompson announced that U.S. would no longer stand in the way of
the rest of world trying to stop Big Tobacco.
This is great news, but shouldn't America be a part of the solution
instead of sitting on the sidelines?
The countries of the World Health Organization (WHO) recently
finished working on a treaty, the Framework Convention on Tobacco
Control (FCTC), to battle the harm and death Big Tobacco's products
cause worldwide. The goal of the FCTC is "to protect present and
future generations from the devastating health, social,
environmental and economic consequences of tobacco consumption and
exposure to tobacco smoke."
Countries from around the world are gathering this week and are
going vote on the treaty this WEDNESDAY, May 21!
I need your help to encourage the U.S. Government to support this
treaty!
Take Action Now and send a free email to Secretary Thompson urging
him and the U.S. government to protect Kids and sign the FCTC.

Doesn't the FCTC sound like the kind of initiative America should
be involved with? It does to me.
Big Tobacco's products kills four million people a year.
We need to send a strong message to our government that we should
be a part of this historic and life-saving treaty.
Please join me in sending a free letter to HHS Secretary Tommy
Thompson urging him and our government to stand up for the American
people and sign the FCTC. Click the link below to send a free
message now.

The FCTC lays out a comprehensive roadmap to protect kids and
others around the globe from the dangers of cigarettes. Included in
the initiative are a comprehensive ban on tobacco advertising;
larger warning labels; an end to deceptive labels; and a number of
actions to eliminate tobacco smuggling.
Thank you for your help,
