CNTC, Philip Morris Sign Agreement of Intent on Cooperation

China National Tobacco Corporation (CNTC) and Philip Morris signed
an agreement of intent on long-term goodwill cooperation in Beijing
on February 5, signifying that the cooperation between the world's
two largest tobacco leaf and cigarette producers has entered a new
stage.

The agreement reaffirms the commitments of both sides to
strengthening cooperation in tobacco leaf production, developing new
cigarette brands, exchanging production technology, preventing
underage people from smoking, etc on a continued basis.

The agreement also provides for the framework of cooperation between
the two sides in other fields.

Present at the signing ceremony, Zhang Baozhen, deputy
director-general of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration, and
the president of the Asia-Pacific operation of Philip Morris
delivered enthusiastic addresses, expressing the readiness of both
sides to strengthen cooperation within the framework of the
agreement.

Signing the agreement were the director of the Foreign Affairs
Department of the CNTC and the president of the Asia-Pacific
operation of Philip Morris. Enditem
