Advertisements for tobacco and adult products are now banned on the
Internet according to new regulations on online advertisements issued by
the Municipal Industrial and Commercial Administration of Beijing. The new
regulations took effect on May 1.

The regulations cover all the online advertisements in the forms of
flag, button or word link of websites and e-mail, according to the
administration.

Internet information service providers should upload the online
advertisements and required documents to the online regulation centre at
www.hd315.gov.cn, and the centre will transfer the advertisements to
target websites, according to the regulations.
