Question of the Month - December 2002
*************************************
Dear Friends,
Is there any information that you would like to gather from around the
world for a tobacco control project or campaign that you are working on?
If so, send us a suggestion for a future "Question of the Month."
This month's question is based upon a suggestion by Jack Boomer of the
Clean Air Coalition (Canada), who wants recommendations for the "top ten
list of books that every tobacco advocate should have in their library."
DECEMBER'S QUESTION: What are the top ten resources that you think every
global tobacco control advocate should know about and have access to?
They can be reports, websites, books, videos, email lists, journals,
etc. Please provide a 1-2 sentence description about each resource. If
you have information on how to order copies of a certain resource,
include that as well.
In particular, we're interested in resources that would be of value to
advocates in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Eastern/Central Europe --
as well as resources from these regions that U.S. advocates might find
useful, e.g. for exposing tobacco industry is up to abroad, carrying out
low-cost advocacy projects, or working more effectively with immigrant
populations.
Feel free to limit your suggestions to a specific niche of tobacco
control work that you know well, e.g. smoke-free legislation, tobacco
taxes, or youth advocacy. We'll be grouping all the suggestions by
category and listing them in order of popularity.
DEADLINE: Friday, January 3, 2003
Stay tuned for the responses to last month's question re: tobacco's
global toll.
